Today was bright and sunny. And on the warm side. Finally. It was a great day for a field trip to the pool! Our Learn2Tri group was back in action today teaching two groups of Howard County high school kids swim tips and training techniques for the swim part of a triathlon. Both groups were enthusiastic and came ready to swim. Some of the kids who had less swimming experience to start the day ended the day much improved. All of the students learned a number of techniques and gained valuable information that will hopefully, one day, help them successfully complete a triathlon. It was great to have the opportunity to teach these students. Our coaches and instructors were thrilled to be back on deck. We had not had students since last Fall, and we weren’t sure we would see any this Spring. But, happily, we do have a few schools participating this semester.
Previously, I published a post about the Learn2Tri program. You can read that post here.
As of today, I still have no idea whether this program will be adopted by another triathlon group or other such benefactor that can fund this great program. But, I, like my fellow Learn2Tri coaches and instructors hope so!
